Jim Beale is een fysicus die een machine uitvindt om ruimte en tijd te manipuleren. Plots verschijnt er een zeldzame dahlia uit de toekomst. Hij moet nu de identieke match met de bloem in het heden vinden om te bewijzen dat zijn machine werkt.
